One of the flagship program of Hon. Congressman Guillermo A. Romarate, Jr. of the 2nd District of Surigao del Norte and Hon. Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr. of Alegria, Surigao del Norte is to promote good health among the constituents. These two political leaders pull their efforts and resources to safeguard the health conditions of all Alegriahanons.
Inside the Alegria Municipal Development Center: Alegriahanons participate during the launching of diabetic alert program
Besides the regular distribution of Phil-health cards covering 2,400 families in the municipality and the periodic Panambay sa Barangay (Medical Missions to the Barangays), this time, Diabetes Alert Program had been launched on July 20, 2009 of which hundreds of Alegriahanons flocked at the Alegria Community Stage/Alegria Municipal Development Center to avail of the services under this program
Among the services extended were the following:
- Free medical check-up and blood examination, diabetes and blood pressure screening.
- Distribution of free medicines for diabetes and high blood ailments.
This health program will now be availed by the constituents as part of the regular services of our Municipal Health Office located at the Municipal Government Center of Alegria. Medical equipments to detect to this kind of ailments are readily available in the center.
