Sanggunian Bayan approves DTP of LGU Alegria, SDN

The local Sanggunian of Alegria, Surigao del Norte recently approved the Devolution Transition Plan (DTP) required by the national government.

During a Sangguniang Bayan session on November 15, 2021, the local sanggunian approved the Resolution 2021-113 series of 2021 “Resolution Approving the Devolution Transition Plan (DTP) of the Municipal Government of Alegria, Surigao del Norte with a Roadmap to Ensure Strategic, Systematic and Coherent Actions Towards Full Implementation of Functions, Services and Facilities to be Fully Devolved by National Government Agencies (NGAs) Concerned Starting 2022” on motion of Hon. Eldy S. Gabeligno duly seconded by mass.

Municipal Planning and Development Coordinator Johny Natad who presented the DTP to the members of the Sangguniang Bayan lauded the local council for immediately approving the DTP.

“We appreciate our Sangguniang Bayan members led by our Municipal Vice Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr, for the urgent approval of our DTP. This only proved that the local council really support the plans and programs of our local government unit”, Natad said.

Meanwhile, the Municipal Development Council (MDC) during its full council meeting on October 29, 2021 approved also the DTP. The MDC approved MDC Resolution No. 03-2021 series of 2021 “A Resolution Approving the Devolution Transition Plan of the Municipality of Alegria, Surigao Del Norte providing the municipal government with a roadmap to ensure strategic, systematic, and coherent actions towards the full implementation of functions, services, and facilities to be fully devolved by national government agencies (NGAs) concerned and mainstreaming it to the local development plans of the municipality”.

Mayor Rene G. Esma thanked the Sangguniang Bayan and the Municipal Development Council for approving the DTP.

“I’m very thankful that our Sangguniang Bayan under the leadership of Municipal Vice Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr. and the members of the MDC for approving our DTP. This Devolution Transition Plan (DTP) reflects the commitment of the Local Government Unit of Alegria, Surigao del Norte to undertake the necessary steps in achieving the desire goals and objectives of the attaining the full devolution of basic services and facilities from the national government to LGU”, Mayor Esma said.

PRLEC launches skills training in Alegria

04 August 2021 – The Poverty Reduction Livelihood and Employment Cluster (PRLEC) recently launches various skills training as part of the launching of the Barangay Development Program of the government.

A total of 135 trainees attended the launching of the PRLEC of the Various Skills Training Program of the Priority Barangay of the Municipality of Alegria last July 28, 2021, at Don Francisco “Kikoy” Bagol Sports Complex.

As the lead agency of PRLEC, TESDA Provincial Director Catalina Tacubao of TESDA Suriga del Norte spearheaded the activity in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of Alegria, Surigao del Norte headed by Municipal Mayor Rene G. Esma.

The event was graced by TESDA Caraga Regional Director Tarhata Mapandi and 30 IB Commandant General George Banson along with Mr. Emilio Pantejo representing Governor Francisco T. Matugas , Alegria, Surigao del Norte Vice Mayor Dominador G. Esma Jr., all SB members of the LGU and the five Barangay Captains of the Priority Barangay, Hon. Felix Paclipan of Ferlda, Hon. Robert Rafael of Alipao, Hon. Romel Tabamo of Budlingin, Hon. Nelson De Pedro of Pongtud and Hon. Herbert Antiola of San Juan

RDRRMC awards Alegria as Fully Compliant LGU in DRRM

July 30, 2021 – The Caraga Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (RDRRMC) recently bestowed an award to the Municipality of Alegria, Surigao del Norte as one of the “Fully Compliant LGU” in the delivery of disaster risk reduction and management (DRRM) services in the locality.

During its 22nd Gawad Kalasag Seal virtual awarding ceremony via Zoom on July 30, 2021, the Caraga RDRRMC conferred a Gawad Kalasag Seal to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) of Alegria, Surigao del Norte as “Fully Compliant (Standard) in the 2021 Regional Gawad KALASAG Seal Excellence in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) and Humanitarian Assistance.

“On behalf of the MDRRMC lead by our ever active and supportive Municipal Mayor Rene G. Esma, the Municipal DRRM Office of Alegria, Surigao del Norte is very thankful to Caraga RDRRMC for the said award. This is the first time the LGU Alegria received this kind of award even neophyte in the DRRM service,” said Local DRRM Officer Johny Natad.

Natad said that the recognition will motivate its MDRRMC to make more endeavors in partnership with local stakeholders to deliver the DRRM services effectively and efficiently, contributing to the wealth and progress desired by the current administration.

Alegria tourism office launches vlog and photography contests

12 July 2021 – The Municipal Tourism Office of Alegria, Surigao del Norte launches the contests on vlog and photography.

Municipal Tourism Officer Luniza P. Garrido revealed that the vlog and photography competitions are open to all Alegrianons who have the desire and talent on the video production and photograph taking to help promote the tourist destinations of the municipality. She encourages all talented Alegrianons aged 18 years old and above to participate in these contests.

ENTRY GUIDELINES:

Create a Vlog of at least FIVE (5) minutes and maximum of TEN (10) minutes on any place or potential tourism destinations, events, experiences, and/or local food in town which communicate the message of being proud Alegrianon and/or appreciate the Alegria’s beautiful, amazing places to explore and experience.
Your Vlog may be a dialogue, monologue, song, or poem performed alone or as a group showcasing the potential Eco-Tourism destinations of the municipality.
We want to see fun, ingenuity, pride, and positivity in your vlog!

RULES

The contest is open to all residents of Alegria, Surigao del Norte 18 years old and above.
Each contestant must pre-register to Alegria Municipal Tourism Office. Only one (1) entry is allowed per contestant.
Entry name should be the one in the vlog or part of the group doing the vlog.
The use of existing videos, vulgarities, hates speech or depiction of drug use, animal and environmental abuses are grounds for disqualification.
This competition is about promoting Alegria Tourism, Municipality of Alegria, Surigao del Norte. The competition will run from Jul 12– July 30, 2021.
Final winners will be chosen by the netizens and a set of Judges. The decision on the winning vlogs is final and no correspondence will be entered into it.
The announcement of winners will be during the SOMA on August 9, 2021. Winners will be posted at the Official Website of the Municipality https://alegriasurigao.wordpress.com and TourismAlegriaSDN Facebook page.

Theme: “PAGKAGANA SA ALEGRIA”!

Participants: OPEN to all RESIDENTS of Alegria, Surigao del Norte 18 years of age and above.
Duration: July 12-30, 2021. uOne entry per participant only.
Deadline of Submission of entry: Is on July 30, 2021, at exactly 5:00 pm.
Should be an image /photo with a corresponding “photo title” and “photo caption”. The caption must indicate the tourism sites or events where the image was taken and must have an accurate description of what the photo is about.
No nudity – please keep photos family-friendly.
The participant is responsible for securing before submission of the entry- a formal consent from concerned parties if the image contains any material or element that is not the participant’s property or if any person appears in the photo (i.e. subjects of the photo). The Alegria Municipal Tourism should not- in any way be held responsible for the contest participant’s inability to secure the necessary permission or consent for their submitted entries.
