The United States Agency for International Development- Growth Equity for Mindanao Project and through the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Hon. Congressman Guillermo A. Romarate, Jr. facilitated by Hon. Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr. regarding the construction of Camp Eduard Trading Center that started July, 2009 had been completed last October, 2009 with a simple turn-over ceremony between the funding agency and the local government unit of Alegria, recently. The total project cost is P 1,179,123.00 including the equity counterpart of Congressman Romarate in the amount of P 440,730.18 from his PDAF-infra fund allocation.
This building will serve the constituents of Barangay Camp Eduard as display center of all locally produced agri-products. With this, it will encourage farmer-growers to produce more since the facility can accommodate large volume of farm products safely before it will be dispatched for trading. This barangay will also declare a market day for the traders/buyers to come and do business with our farmer-growers offering farm gate prices.
At this point of time, the barangay officials of Camp Eduard are still in the process of crafting the policies and guidelines in the use of the trading center and its operation and maintenance mechanisms.
Constructed with the assistance of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development – Growth Equity for Mindanao (USAID-GEM) and the Mindanao Economic Development Council (MEDCo), Office of the President. And through the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Hon. Congressman Guillermo A. Romarate, Jr., 2nd District of the Province of Surigao del Norte facilitated by Municipal Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr.
