Propegemus | Municipality of Alegria

Honorable Dominador G. Esma, Jr., the Municipal Mayor of Alegria, Surigao del Norte led the project launching of the project funded by Philippines-Australia Community Assistance Program (PACAP) – People’s Livelihood Efforts in Agro-forestry and Sustainable Environment (PLEASE) on July 21, 2008 at Barangay Budlingin Multi-Purpose Hall, Barangay Budlingin, Alegria, Surigao del Norte. The said activity was highlighted with the unveiling of project signage, providing messages of commitment and supports and ceremonial planting of trees jointly exhibited by project partners attending the project launching.

Along with Mayor Esma who graced the activity were the PACAP Provincial Project Officer Ms. Monina G. Hernandez, Vice-Mayor Ernesto Odjinar, LMDA Director Kaiser B. Recabo, Jr., Propegemus Foundation Executive Director Arnold L. Tapere, FIDA representative Roel Durren, Alegria MPDC Mr. Edipolo A. Mosquito, Jr., FMC People’s Organization Representative Mr. Felix P. Maglaque, FOCAS Project Coordinator Omar C. Barillo, the Barangay Officials led by Hon. Alexander Pa-as of Budlingin and Hon. Jojie Salgarino of Camp Eduard and the 60 identified beneficiaries from the Barangays of Budlingin and Camp Eduard.

“I am very grateful that the two barangays of our municipality are the recipients of this PACAP project wherein it does not only help generate livelihood for my constituents but also protect and sustain our natural environment,” the message of Mayor Esma.

Propegemus Foundation, Inc. is the implementing partner of the PLEASE project to Barangays of Budlingin and Camp Eduard in Alegria, Surigao del Norte. The project was realized with the collaboration of Lake Mainit Development Alliance. The Budlingin Multipurpose Cooperative and Camp Eduard Multipurpose Cooperative are partner people’s organization of the project. The project has a total amount of Php 4,669,970.00 where Php 2,991,670 of it is PACAP grant and Php 1,678,300.00 cash and/or in-kind counterpart contributions from LGU of Alegria, BLGU and POs of Camp Eduard and Budlingin and Propegemus Foundation, Inc.
