By: MPDC Edipolo A. Mosquito, Jr.
Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr. organized the composition of the MRDP-Municipal Program Management and Implementing Unit (MRDP-MPMIU); Multi-Sectoral Committee (MSC); creation of the Municipal Research and Extension Team (MRET); Municipal Revenue Generation and Management Committee (MRGMC) and creation of the Mindanao Rural Development Program Municipal Planning Team (MRDP-MPT) through executive orders effective July 1, 2010. These teams will be responsible in the implementation of four MRDP components: Rural Infrastructure (RI), Community Fund for Agricultural Development (CFAD), Natural Resources Management (NRM) and Investment for Governance Reforms and Program Administration (IGRPA).
MRDP-2 Alegria will focus in the implementation of livelihood projects, farm to market road construction and technical skills training to stakeholders directly involved in the project in partnership with Department of Agriculture, a government national agency who leads and responsible in the approval of projects to be funded by World Bank through the Municipal Development Fund Office of the Department of Finance (MDFO-DOF).
MRDP seeks to improve rural incomes and achieve food security through agri-fisheries infrastructure, livelihood enterprise, and biodiversity conservation projects. Alongside poverty-reducing initiatives, the program likewise reinforces the implementation of the Local Government Code and the Agricultural and Fisheries Modernization Act.
