To further enhance the skills and performances of every office personnel in the local government unit of Alegria, Surigao del Norte, the ever supportive Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr. through the recommendation of the Human Resource Management Officer, Mr. Rene S. Pana requested the Regional Civil Service Commission, Butuan City to conduct Supervisory Development Course (SDC) “ The New Supervisor: Making A Difference” to 11 heads of offices and 19 second liner employees for a period of 3 days on April 20-22, 2010 at the Alegria Municipal Development Training Center.
There are 7 modules in this course, namely:
Module 1- Enhancing Personal Effectives (16 training hours)
Module 2- Supervision: A Challenge and Commitment (16 training hours)
Module 3- Making a Difference Through Leadership (8 training hours)
Module 4- Communication: The Secret to Organizational Effectiveness (8 training hours)
Module 5- How to Spark Exceptional Performance (16 training hours)
Module 6- Making Powerful, Winning Presentations (16 training hours)
Module 7- Making Meetings Productive (8 training hours)
Modules 1 and 4 were the first modules being tackled by LGU participants as determined by CSC Regional Director Adams D. Torres through Mrs. Imelda O. Bongabong, Chief Personnel Specialist of the Human Resource Division of the said office. It is expected that employees who attended the training will eventually apply what they learned in the training and would be effective in their roles as civil servants.
Mayor Esma on the other hand, commended the Civil Service Commission, Caraga Region XIII of conducting the training and he promised that those employees who started the modular training will eventually complete the course in due time. He further said that only MPDC Edipolo A. Mosquito, Jr. who successfully completed the 7 modules with 88 training hours in the Supervisory Development Course last 2008.
