The construction of Budlingin Trading Center at Brgy. Budlingin, Alegria, Surigao del  Norte is now completed and was turned over to LGU Alegria thru Hon. Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr. last March 15, 2010 witnessed by Brgy. Captain Alexander A. Pa-as and some members of the Brgy. Council who is the end-user of the facility. The total cost of the project amounted to Php 1,588,917.82 funded by GEM-USAID and the PDAF of Congressman Guillermo A. Romarate, Jr., 2nd congressional district of Surigao del Norte which was facilitated by Mayor Esma to address the need of  Barangay Budlingin to have a decent trading/market place.

This building will serve the constituents of Barangay Budlingin as display center of all locally produced agri-products. With this, it will encourage farmer-growers to produce more since the facility can accommodate large volume of farm products safely before it will be dispatched for trading. This barangay will also declare a market day for the traders/buyers  to come and do business with our farmer-growers offering farm gate prices.

At this point of time, the barangay officials of Budlingin are still in the process of crafting the policies and guidelines in the use of the trading center and its operation and maintenance mechanisms.

Constructed with the assistance of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development – Growth Equity for Mindanao (USAID-GEM) and the Mindanao Economic Development Council (MEDCo), Office of the President.  And through the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) of Hon. Congressman Guillermo A. Romarate, Jr., 2nd District of the Province of Surigao del Norte facilitated by Municipal Mayor Dominador G. Esma, Jr.

Total Project Cost: Php 1,588,917.82

USAID-GEM Php 1,114,549.00
PDAF Equity of Cong. Romarate P hp   474,368.82
